About

Hi, I’m Krzysztof.

I’m a Senior Unity Developer with 9+ years of C# and 7+ years shipping VR and console games. At FuturLab I spearheaded the award-winning PowerWash Simulator VR, and now I work on core systems for PowerWash Simulator 2: HUD architecture, the message archive, content loading and release ownership.

I got into games through university game jams, and I’ve been both lead developer and the one keeping everyone on schedule since day one. I care about clean architecture, and about the people I build with.

I’m Polish and grew up and studied in the UK. Now I’m moving home: I’m relocating to the Kraków area and looking for Senior Unity roles, hybrid or remote.

How I work

Leadership & ways of working

  • I lead architecture discussions, and I’m comfortable owning a feature end to end or acting as technical steward for a live, multi-platform title.
  • I run code reviews, mentor on architecture, SOLID and clean code, and host knowledge-sharing sessions for the wider team.
  • I own releases: as Tech Branch Owner for major content drops, I coordinate the Art, Design and QA pods.
  • Evidence over hunches: I led a cross-discipline investigation into recurring regressions, combining repository and ticket data with interviews with QA and programmers.
  • I write things down: technical and user documentation for game systems, plus studio docs on branch governance and dev-kit tracking.
  • I work directly with clients when needed: scoping, planning and presenting technical options to stakeholders.

Specialism

UI/UX for VR

I design and engineer UI and UX, especially for VR. On PowerWash Simulator VR I implemented all of the diegetic UI and designed the quick-access pop-out watch, which keeps job progress, money, messages and the most common VR settings on the player’s wrist. That work carried straight into the modular HUD and the message archive on PowerWash Simulator 2.

Experience

Where I’ve worked

  1. 2023 – present

    Senior Programmer · FuturLab

Core systems on PowerWash Simulator 2 across PC, PS5, PS4, Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. Tech Branch Owner for major content releases. Line manager to two programmers.

  2. 09/2021 – 2023

    VR Programmer · FuturLab

Joined as a mid-level VR Programmer. Spearheaded PowerWash Simulator VR on Meta Quest and implemented its multiplayer. The game won Best UK Mixed Reality Game at the Ukie Awards 2024. I also did some brief Nintendo Switch work on PowerWash Simulator.

  3. 06/2019 – 09/2021

VR Developer · Lampada Digital Solutions

Bespoke VR, AR and 360 training applications in Unity. Built decoupled systems shared as Unity packages and led client meetings as technical lead. Part-time during my final year at university.

  4. 06/2018 – 06/2019

Intern VR Software Developer · SeedVR

Industrial placement year. Built a VR training application in Unreal Engine 4/C++, rescued a legacy UE4 project, and made VR/AR prototypes in Unity.

Education

BSc (Hons) Computer Science for Games Development with Industrial Placement

University of Hull, 2016–2020 · First Class Honours · Achievement Scholarship for two consecutive years.

At university I built a modular, tweakable and performant swarm simulation in Unity. I also presented research comparing four different processing units to around 30 people.

Away from the keyboard

Drawing, hiking, ice skating

I sketch, I hike (most recently in the Bieszczady) and I ice skate. I also keep experimenting with new game-dev ideas, like a physics-based grapple movement prototype.
